When Behemoth and Hopsters Co-Op from across the ditch get together in Mt Eden, you know something sneaky’s brewing. On the surface, this beer looks like a straight-up Belgian IPA, bright, punchy, and packed with that hoppy goodness we all love. But shhh… don’t tell anyone, we all know a Belgian IPA is really just a Saison with a better marketing plan.
It’s got the body of an IPA, the soul of a Saison. Heavily inspired by iconic example of the style, but with NZ’s Motueka and Nelson, a kawakawa steeping addition and the attitude of two breweries who refuse to colour inside the lines.
Whatever you call it, it’s deliciously deceptive.
